It's Friday, be happy folks. But apparently some are not in Iowa. Rick Perry is back in Iowa and came in with a roaring "Government, move out of the way." He has lost a lot of following since his initial boost when first launching his campaign. Very familiar with Texas but not much of anywhere else, he should have done his homework. The rest of the country is not like great ol' Texas and he found that out the hard way. Sensing that he's loosing his support, Perry tries the average-joe card. The article, from the Washington Post, can be found here. Perry says:
“I just want people to know I’m an approachable, regular person,” he
said in an interview in the back of his campaign bus, where he said he
sometimes unwinds with a short nap between events. “I’m kind of the same
guy I was 20 years ago. A little more broken down now, maybe. Older but
wiser.”
Still, even though he may be in the single digits in the polls, he still is a threat to his opponents, and gets Fundrasing money like no tomorrow.
He plans to get more support by taking his 2500-mile bus tour to 42 cities and charm voters. Good luck Perry. Learn to whisper next time. Talking loudly may be a bit off-putting for your conservative audience.
